“Perfect Love”
Who was it who healed the sick?
Who was it who cured the leper?
Raised the dead, fed five thousand?
Who was it who ate with sinners?
Who was it who fellow shipped
With outcasts from Israel?
Who was it who, with His mighty hands,
Quelled the storm and walked on water?
Who was it who, with His mighty hands,
Was born of a virgin, son of a carpenter,
Who died on a cross to rise again?
Who was this great Savior?
Who was it who, with His mighty hands,
Brought a nation to its’ knees
Who was this who wore a crown of thorns
And is King of all creation?
Who was this who, with His mighty hands,
Defeated evil with one, last breath?
Who was this man? This King, this Servant?
Who with His mighty hands,
Brings fear to kings of the earth
Hope to the sinners of the world
Charity to the poor, the sick
Eternal life to all?
I will tell you who this is,
This man who sought the lost sheep
So that I may yet be saved.
I will tell you who this is,
This Servant, this King,
This God to whom I yield.
This God to whom I yield
This God to whom I kneel
This God who loves me still
Though an errant that I am.
This my friend, my fellow, my kin,
This is the God of Israel, the Messiah of yore.
