The Sacrifice
Born in a dusty, border town
Raised by a daughter of Eve
Raised by a son of Adam
Imperfect, selfish, and sinful
Yet my Lord, His love ascending
He still died for me.
Lost in a world devoid of the Word
Where principalities and powers
Unaligned with the Son of God
Rule unseen from above
Yet my Lord, His love ascending
He still died for me.
Lost in a world of idol worship
A world where truth is an alien
A world where lies are praised
A world where deceit is king
Yet my Lord, His love ascending
He still died for me.
Immersed in immoral and wicked ways
Immersed in my own sin
Willingly blinded by perverse speech
As to perpetuate the sin
Yet my Lord, His love ascending
He still died for me.
Purposefully ignorant and willfully sinful
As a disobedient child to continue my ways
Then as darkened glass was shattered
My vision was cleared; the sins laid bare
Yet my Lord, His love ascending
He still died for me.
